Warehouses typically operate 24/7 with three shifts: morning (6am-2pm), afternoon (2pm-10pm), and night (10pm-6am). Most workers do 8-hour shifts, 6 days per week, with one day off. Forklift operators and crane operators often work in rotating shifts. Major peak times (during industrial production cycles, Ramadan stocking, and shipping seasons) require significant overtime. Workers usually have 30-minute meal breaks and 15-minute rest breaks.
Forklift License Requirements
Forklift operators must have valid licenses, typically issued by the Saudi Council for Engineers or recognized training centers. International forklift licenses from your home country may need conversion. Most major employers conduct internal forklift certification programs, especially for specialized equipment like reach trucks, order pickers, and side-loaders. Workers should have at least 2 years of forklift experience and be able to operate multiple equipment types.
Visa and Iqama Process
The employer handles all visa documentation. After selection, you receive a logistics-sector work visa. Upon arrival in Jubail, the company arranges accommodation, transportation, and Iqama processing. The Iqama typically takes 60-90 days. Some warehouses require additional permits for working in restricted industrial zones (petrochemical sites have additional security clearance requirements).
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be between 21 and 45 years old, physically fit, and able to perform manual lifting (up to 25-30 kg regularly). Basic literacy is required. For forklift positions, a valid forklift license from the home country is essential, along with at least 1 to 2 years of experience. Store keepers require basic computer skills, English language proficiency, and inventory management knowledge. Previous warehouse or logistics experience is highly preferred. SAP, Oracle, or other ERP system knowledge is valuable for inventory positions.
Required Documents
Submit a passport copy with 18+ months validity, forklift license (if applicable), experience letters from previous warehouse jobs, educational certificates, recent photographs, medical fitness certificate, GAMCA medical (for South Asians), police clearance certificate, computer literacy certificate (for store keeper roles), and any additional certifications (HSE, OSHA, NEBOSH).
How to Apply
Apply through licensed recruitment agencies with direct contracts to Jubail’s major employers. Many large logistics companies like Almajdouie, Bahri, and Agility recruit through their official career portals (almajdouie.com/careers, bahri.sa/careers, agility.com/careers) and approved partner agencies. Avoid paying unauthorized fees to sub-agents. The selection process includes interviews, practical forklift tests (for operators), and trade tests.
Tips for Warehouse Job Seekers
Get certified in multiple forklift types to increase your value (reach truck, side-loader, order picker). Learn basic SAP or Oracle ERP systems online. Improve English communication for supervisory advancement. Take HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) certifications which are highly valued in Jubail’s industrial sites. Build a strong CV showing types of warehouses, cargo handled, and equipment operated.
Career Growth Path
Warehouse helpers can progress to forklift operators (after license training), senior operators, team leaders, store keepers, inventory controllers, warehouse supervisors, logistics coordinators, operations supervisors, warehouse managers, and logistics directors. With experience and additional certifications (PMP, Six Sigma, supply chain management), career paths extend to procurement, supply chain, and operations management.
Fraud Prevention
Warehouse jobs are common targets for fraudulent recruitment. Genuine offers come from registered agencies with verifiable employer details. Never pay more than necessary documentation fees (typically SAR 10,000-15,000 for the entire process). Verify forklift training certifications offered by agencies – real ones are recognized internationally.
