Candidates should be 21 to 50 years old and physically fit (farm work is physically demanding, often in hot conditions). Previous farming experience is highly preferred, though training is provided for general workers. For specialized roles (equipment operation, dairy work, date palm climbing), relevant experience or certifications are required. Agricultural engineering positions require relevant degrees with 3 to 5 years of experience. Date palm climbers need experience and physical fitness for working at heights (15-20 meters typical date palm height).

How to Apply
Apply through agricultural recruitment agencies that specialize in farm worker deployment to Saudi Arabia. Submit a CV with farming experience details, educational certificates, passport copy, and photographs. Many farms recruit through direct contact with home country agricultural training centers, particularly in rural areas of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Philippines.
Specialization Opportunities
High-value agricultural specializations include: date palm climbing and harvesting (traditional skill, premium wages), modern greenhouse management (climate-controlled environments, advanced technology), precision irrigation (drip systems, fertigation), organic farming (growing demand for premium produce), dairy herd management (Almarai-style modern dairy), poultry production (broiler and layer operations), and aquaculture (growing sector in Saudi Arabia).
Career Growth in Agriculture
Career paths: general worker → skilled worker → team leader → farm supervisor → farm manager → agricultural operations manager. Specialized paths include agronomist, farm consultant, agricultural equipment specialist, dairy/poultry operations specialist, and agricultural business owner. Many experienced agricultural workers transition to consulting roles or start their own farming operations.
Tips for Farm Job Seekers
Develop skills in specific agricultural niches (date palm work, greenhouse, dairy, poultry). Get training in modern agricultural techniques (precision farming, drip irrigation). Learn basic equipment operation (tractors, harvesters). Develop physical endurance for demanding outdoor work. Get pesticide application certifications (required by Saudi regulations). Improve English for supervisory advancement.
Date Palm Climbing – Specialized Skill
Date palm climbing is a traditional, well-paid specialization. Climbers ascend 15-20m date palms for pollination, harvesting, and maintenance. The work requires physical fitness, fearlessness of heights, and specialized climbing techniques. Modern operations use safety harnesses. Top date palm climbers can earn SAR 4,000-7,000 monthly during peak seasons.
Avoiding Fraud
Agricultural recruitment sees moderate fraud, especially targeting rural workers. Genuine fees range from SAR 5,000-15,000. Verify the farm exists through Saudi Ministry of Agriculture databases. Be cautious of agents promising high salaries for general farm work (over SAR 3,000) – these are usually false promises.
