Security Guard Jobs in Kuwait for Foreigners: License and Salary Details

Kuwait is one of the most stable and well-paying Gulf countries for foreign workers, and the demand for trained security personnel continues to grow each year. From shopping malls and corporate towers to oil facilities and residential compounds, employers across the country rely heavily on foreign nationals to maintain safety and order. If you are searching for expat jobs Kuwait has to offer in the security sector, this guide covers everything you need to know – license requirements, salary expectations, the visa process, and how to secure a legitimate opportunity in work in Kuwait 2026.

Who Can Apply for Security Guard Jobs in Kuwait

Kuwait actively recruits security guards from countries such as India, Pakistan, Nepal, the Philippines, Egypt, Jordan, and several African nations. Prior Gulf experience is not always required, though having relevant security training or a background in law enforcement or the military greatly improves your chances.

General eligibility requirements include:

• Age between 21 and 45 years
• Minimum secondary school education
• Physical fitness and a clean criminal record
• Basic English or Arabic communication ability
• Readiness to work rotating shifts

Expats with military or police service records are frequently preferred. Some security companies also offer structured on-the-job training for candidates who meet the core criteria but lack formal certification.

Kuwait Employment Visa for Security Guards

To legally work as a security guard in Kuwait, you must obtain a Kuwait employment visa before entry. This visa is processed by your employer and is the standard route for all Kuwait jobs for foreigners entering the security field.

The employer applies for a work permit through the Public Authority for Manpower. Once approved, a Kuwait work permit is issued to the company, and you then receive a visa stamp at the Kuwaiti embassy in your home country. A civil ID is issued upon arrival in Kuwait.

Only accept offers from companies that manage the full visa process on your behalf. Any recruiter asking you to pay for a Kuwait employment visa or Kuwait work permit is operating outside the boundaries of Kuwaiti labour law.

Salary Range for Security Guards in Kuwait

One of the key attractions for expats considering security roles in Kuwait is the competitive total compensation package. Salaries vary based on the employer, the type of site, and shift structure, but the figures below reflect market rates in 2026.

Basic Pay vs. Total Package

The base salary for a security guard in Kuwait typically falls between KWD 70 and KWD 130 per month. However, the total package frequently includes several additions that raise the overall value considerably.

Common package components include:

• Monthly food allowance of KWD 20 to KWD 40
• Free accommodation provided by the employer
• Transportation to and from the work site
• Annual return air ticket to the home country
• Basic health insurance coverage

When all benefits are added together, guards working under Kuwait visa sponsorship jobs effectively receive the equivalent of USD 400 to USD 700 per month with no housing costs to cover. This makes the savings potential much higher than what similar roles offer in many home countries.

License Requirements for Security Guards in Kuwait

Kuwait does not currently enforce a single mandatory national license for all frontline security guards, unlike some other Gulf states. However, most reputable security companies and government-linked contracts require guards to pass internal assessments or complete accredited training before being deployed to any site.

How to Obtain Security Certification in Kuwait

For expats coming through Kuwait visa sponsorship jobs with established firms, the employer typically handles all regulatory registration after arrival. That said, holding internationally recognized credentials before you apply adds measurable value to your profile.

Useful certifications to obtain beforehand include:

• Basic Security Training from a recognized institute
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Fire Safety awareness training
• Military or police discharge paperwork

Many large security contractors operating in Kuwait also run their own accredited induction programs for new hires, ensuring recruits are assessed and certified before being assigned to any facility.
