Who Hires Cleaning Staff in Dubai
Understanding which sectors employ cleaners helps you target the right opportunities when you begin your job search.
Corporate Offices and Business Centers
Multinational corporations and regional headquarters clustered in areas like DIFC, Business Bay, and Sheikh Zayed Road require dedicated cleaning crews for morning, evening, and overnight shifts. These are among the more stable expat jobs Dubai offers in facility management because the work is indoors, the schedules are predictable, and many employers provide long-term contracts.
Shopping Malls and Retail Venues
Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, and hundreds of community retail centres employ full-time cleaners and supervisors on rotating shifts. Responsibilities include floor polishing, waste collection, restroom maintenance, and exterior cleaning. Shift patterns are structured and overtime is usually available.

Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities
Hospital cleaning roles sit in a separate category because staff must follow strict infection-control and biohazard protocols. The additional training requirement means these positions typically attract slightly higher salaries than standard office cleaning roles. Specialist facility management companies usually recruit for these positions and provide on-the-job certification.
Hotels and Hospitality Venues
Four-star and five-star hotels regularly post Dubai jobs for foreigners in housekeeping and public-area cleaning. These packages frequently include free accommodation jobs Dubai applicants find appealing because housing, meals, and transport are bundled into the offer, reducing your personal living costs to near zero.
Typical Salary and Compensation
The most attractive feature of working in the UAE for millions of expats is the tax free salary Dubai provides. There is no personal income tax in the UAE, which means every dirham you earn is yours to keep or send home.
| Role | Monthly Salary (AED) | Monthly Salary (USD approx.) |
| General Cleaner / Janitor | 1,200 – 1,800 | 327 – 490 |
| Office Cleaning Technician | 1,800 – 2,800 | 490 – 762 |
| Office Cleaning Supervisor | 2,000 – 3,500 | 545 – 953 |
| Hospital Cleaning Specialist | 2,200 – 3,200 | 599 – 871 |
| Senior Facility Cleaning Manager | 4,000 – 7,000 | 1,089 – 1,905 |
Figures reflect industry averages for 2025 to 2026 and vary based on employer size, experience level, and the sector you work in. Entry-level UAE visa sponsorship jobs in cleaning typically include transport allowances, an annual air ticket to your home country, and health insurance as required under UAE federal labour law.
Benefits That Come with Cleaning Roles in Dubai
Beyond the headline salary, cleaning and facility management employers in Dubai routinely offer:
- Visa sponsorship and all related government fees paid by the employer
- Free or subsidised accommodation in labour camps or shared housing near work sites
- Free transport between accommodation and client sites
- Annual return flight ticket to your country of origin
- Health insurance coverage as mandated by UAE labour regulations
- End-of-service gratuity calculated on your years of continuous employment
Free accommodation jobs Dubai candidates seek most are most available through large-scale facility management companies that hold cleaning contracts across dozens of buildings and need workers housed nearby. This arrangement dramatically reduces the cost of living abroad and allows cleaners to save a meaningful portion of their salary each month.
Understanding the MOHRE Work Permit and UAE Visa Process
All foreign nationals who work in Dubai must hold a valid work permit issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. When you are offered a position through a licensed employer as part of jobs in Dubai with free visa, the sponsorship process follows a clear sequence:
1. Your employer submits a work permit application to MOHRE on your behalf before you travel.
2. Once MOHRE approves the application, you receive an entry permit allowing you to fly to the UAE.
3. On arrival, you complete a mandatory medical fitness test and register for your Emirates ID.
4. The employer then activates your residence visa, which is normally valid for two years and renewable.
Under UAE law, employers are prohibited from passing visa or recruitment fees on to employees. Any recruiter who demands payment from you before issuing a job offer is almost certainly operating illegally. Report such incidents directly to MOHRE, which operates a complaints hotline and digital portal.
The MOHRE work permit system is fully digitalised and employers can track permit status through the official MOHRE platform. Legitimate UAE visa sponsorship jobs always include a formal offer letter and a signed contract registered with MOHRE before departure.
How to Find Office and Commercial Cleaning Jobs in Dubai
Online Job Portals
Several platforms list cleaning and facility management vacancies across Dubai on a daily basis. Useful sites include Bayt.com, GulfTalent, Indeed UAE, LinkedIn, and Dubizzle. Use specific search terms such as “office cleaner Dubai”, “facility management staff UAE”, or “cleaning supervisor visa sponsored” to surface the most relevant listings. Filter further by benefit type to find packages that mention accommodation included or free visa provided.
Facility Management Companies
Large integrated facility management firms hold cleaning contracts with hundreds of client buildings simultaneously and hire in bulk. Applying directly through their career pages can be more reliable than going through third-party recruiters, and these companies are usually experienced in managing the full MOHRE work permit process efficiently.
Licensed Recruitment Agencies
Licensed agencies in your home country often maintain active partnerships with Dubai-based cleaning contractors. Ensure any agency you approach holds the appropriate licence from both the UAE and your country’s labour ministry. Never pay placement fees to any agency, as all costs for legitimate expat jobs Dubai should be covered by the hiring employer.
How to Apply Step by Step
Applying for office and commercial cleaning roles in Dubai is a manageable process when you approach it systematically.
First, prepare a clear and honest CV listing your previous cleaning or facility management experience, any relevant certifications such as NEBOSH health and safety training, and your passport details including expiry date.
Second, search the portals listed above using keywords aligned to the role and benefits you are targeting, for example “free accommodation cleaning job Dubai” or “commercial cleaner visa sponsorship UAE”.
Third, apply directly through the company website or portal and include a short cover message confirming your availability, work experience, and willingness to relocate.
Fourth, if shortlisted, prepare for a video or phone interview. Hiring managers in this sector typically ask about your familiarity with cleaning chemicals, floor care equipment, safety procedures, and shift flexibility.
Fifth, once an offer arrives, read the full employment contract before signing. Confirm that visa sponsorship, accommodation, transport, and insurance are explicitly stated in writing. Never sign a contract that differs from what was discussed verbally.
Sixth, do not pay any recruitment fee at any stage. All genuine jobs in Dubai with visa sponsorship absorb these costs on the employer side.
Tips to Improve Your Chances of Getting Hired
A few targeted steps can meaningfully raise your chances of landing a role, especially for positions with better pay and conditions.
Earn certifications before you apply. Any training in occupational health and safety, infection control, industrial chemical handling, or first aid makes your CV stand out and can push your opening salary offer upward.
Learn basic conversational English if it is not your first language. English is the primary language of instruction and communication in most Dubai office environments, and clear communication with supervisors is essential.
Show flexibility around shift times. Many office and commercial cleaning contracts operate overnight or in the early morning before businesses open. Demonstrating willingness to work non-standard hours significantly widens the number of roles open to you.
Gather reference letters. A written reference from a previous employer confirming your reliability, honesty, and cleaning competency carries genuine weight with Dubai hiring managers, many of whom screen heavily on character.
Research your employer before accepting. Use MOHRE’s online verification tool to confirm that any company offering you work in Dubai 2026 holds a valid trade licence. This simple check reduces the risk of encountering fraudulent offers.
FAQ – Office and Commercial Cleaning Jobs in Dubai
Is visa sponsorship standard for cleaning jobs in Dubai?
Yes. The overwhelming majority of legitimate cleaning job offers from established companies include employer-sponsored visas. The employer registers the work permit with MOHRE and absorbs all associated government costs. Always get written confirmation of this before agreeing to any role.
Do cleaning jobs in Dubai come with free accommodation?
Many large facility management companies include free or subsidised accommodation in the employment package. Free accommodation jobs Dubai listings are especially common at firms that operate multiple client sites simultaneously and need workers housed centrally. Always verify this benefit in the contract before signing.
What is the minimum salary for cleaning staff in the UAE?
The UAE does not apply a universal private sector minimum wage in the traditional sense, but MOHRE sets wage guidance by skill classification and all employers must pay salaries through the Wages Protection System. For unskilled cleaning roles, starting pay typically falls between AED 1,200 and AED 1,600 per month, with accommodation and transport supplements adding significant value to the total package.
Can I change employers after arriving on a cleaning work permit?
Under current UAE labour law, after completing one full year with your sponsor employer you have the right to transfer your work permit to a new employer without requiring a No Objection Certificate. If your employer terminates your contract without cause or breaches agreed terms, an earlier transfer may be permitted. MOHRE governs these rules and can be contacted directly for case-specific guidance.
What documents do I need to apply?
You will generally need a valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity, a recent passport photograph, your CV, any experience or training certificates, and copies of your educational qualifications. Some employers also request a police clearance certificate from your home country as part of pre-employment checks before finalising your visa paperwork.
Conclusion
Office and commercial cleaning jobs in Dubai remain one of the most reliably accessible routes into the UAE labour market for foreign workers across skill levels. The combination of a tax free salary Dubai provides, employer-covered visa costs, free accommodation in many packages, and a legally structured environment under the MOHRE work permit framework makes these roles genuinely competitive compared to equivalent work in many other countries.
